New Records Set
The December 17th graduation ceremonies capped another record year of growth for IWU.
Four short years ago 11 students from IWU's first online degree program (MBA) walked across the platform as friends and family members cheered. This year 493 online students from eight online degree programs completed their course work and earned a hearty "Well Done" handshake from President Barnes.
IWU holds three ceremonies each year, April, August and December. This year's December ceremony saw a 33% increase in online graduates over last December's figures; 259 vs. 195.
This pattern looks like it will be continuing well into the future. Online student enrollment growth this year continues to exceed the classroom-based growth across the nation (which is barely above flat.) On Dec. 1, online enrollment was up 49% over one year ago.
